These drawings record brief moments and conversations from numerous elevator rides, before that small space was avoided and everyone wore masks. Patients, technicians,   visitors, nurses, doctors and children ride the elevator from one floor to the next. Here are glimpses of a busy work life:

“I’m a Nurse Anesthetist on the 6^th floor”

“I’ve been a Nurse for 30 years”

“I work until 11:30 tonight’

Now at this time of the pandemic, the elevator is no longer a place for brief visits. Our stories of this time wait to be told.
